Macroeconomic zoning is considered as one of the most effective methods of strategic regional analysis. It provides the possibility to identify and evaluate the spatial differentiation of natural environment, either external or internal relative to economic mega-region. The basis of macroeconomic zoning of the Russian Far East is a system of landscape zones and sectors, interpreted in accordance with the task. The following macroeconomic areas are outlined and briefly described: the Far North, Far North, Middle North and South.
